Went to Syracuse to watch the basketball game of the day. Then came to Varsity, a must try place according to my hubby. The pizzas were very good, they even sold out at 15:30. The buffalo wings were also a big hit.

THIS is your quintessential college-town "place" to grab some grub. Pizza (sausage and pepperoni) was phenomenal, but so were the wings and so were the folks taking orders and making food. We were here for a College visit, this made US want to quit our jobs and enroll at Syracuse!

I was traveling with my Mom to Lake Placid & stopped at Syracuse University to meet up with her best friend & old collage roommate. Her roommate said this was the best & most well known restaurant in town & she wasn’t kidding!

Great pizza, wrap, & grill restaurant!! Staff was friendly and courteous and took great pride in preparing excellent food. I got a gluten free wrap and it was made with care and perfection:) My husband got pizza, 2 slices for $5! Then liked it so much went back for more!! He just loved the crust, delicious!!

Still great after all these years. Their pizza has the best toppings and crust in town. Try the "Varsity" pizza which has red sauce and mozzarella with a delicious combination of 2 meat (pepperoni & sausage) and 3 vegetable (onion, bell pepper, & mushroom) toppings. Also, while you're waiting for Elli to cook your pizza, place an order for 5 or 10 wings with Gus and he'll call out your name when they're ready to pick up. There are many additional comfort foods on the menu, and all of the ones I've tried are good. While you're eating, check out the college flags hung on the walls. Depending on the time of the year, if a flag is upside down it means that the Syracuse basketball or football team beat that school during the current season. Sadly, if the flag is upright it means we lost. POST- PANDEMIC UPDATE-1: Elli is still making the best pizza in town. I know it's a selfish thought, but I hope she never retires. UPDATE-2: During a lunch at the Varsity with friends, I learned that Syracuse University has purchased the restaurant and may tear it down in the next 2 years. If this is true, it reflects very badly on President Syverud of Syracuse University. Hopefully, alumni will unite in opposition. UPDATE-3: Still making the best pizza in town.

I haven't been here for 30 plus years since I went to College at Syracuse and it looks the same! Great food just like I remembered. I had the Varsity Cheese Steak with onions, peppers, mushrooms and cheese. Delicious! They serve beer! Still announcing your name when your wings are ready! The best wings around!

Being here was like being transported in time. The decor is so vintage and cool, and the pizza (buffalo chicken, & bacon ranch) was fantastic. Prices are decent as well.

CLASSIC COLLEGE PIZZA JOINT. The Varsity is on the edge of campus in the shadow of the Dome and has been around for almost 100 years. Pregame the line is long but moves quickly. The pizza is good with thin crust and a nice sauce. I grab a slice at every SU game!

Varsity, at the corner of Crouse and Marshall in Syracuse has been around seemingly forever. It’s pretty much a way of life at Syracuse University. ‘Meet me at Varsity’ was a thing back when I was a student there, and it still is today as the next generations of students makes it their own. Yeah, Varsity is definitely a tradition at the CUSE. Their menu is pretty expansive and hasn’t change much in the last decade or so. They have a lot of sandwich and sub options, as well as some wraps. A fan favorite has always been their wings and pizza. Those two staples alone kind of put Varsity on the map, and that’s what I ordered. The chicken wings were as good as ever. Nice and crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The BBQ sauce was just perfect. The pepperoni slice that I got to accompany the wings was also good. The crust was particularly outstanding. Loved it!
